I'm happy that I can tell here about a Christmas gift!!!! :) These mittens are made for my mentally handicapped sister Maria, and there's no possibility that she could see these too early. I'm also happy that I can introduce a project that belongs to Finnish mitten-KAL!
lanka: Schachenmayr Nomottan Merino 70 g
puikot: 3 mm bambut
silmukoita: varressa 48, kämmenosassa 68, peukussa 16
Maria's Mittens
Yarn: Merino by Schachenmayr Nomotta 70 g
Needles: 3 mm bamboos
Stitches: 48 for the wrist, 68 for the palm, 16 for the thumb

Please try to find out the motif. I made look-a-likes for my Finnish Secret Pal this autumn, but forgot to photograph them. The motif is from the book The Encyclopedia of Knitting by Leslie Stanfield and Melody Griffits.
Schachenmayr Nomottan Merinoa tilasin puserollisen keväällä jonkin nettilankakaupan alesta, mutta nyt tuntuu punainen väri jotenkin kyllästyttävältä (käytinkin sitä aika monta vuotta!) ja päätin hyödyntää pehmoiset ihanat merinokerät muiden ihmisten iloksi.
I ordered Merino by Schachenmayr Nomotta from a sale of a some net yarn shop in the spring, meaning to make a sweater. But now I don't feel so "red" anymore (been using the colour for years!) and decided to make something nice for other people of these soft skeins.
